Two classic (golden years) Simpsons moments...just because

Truckasaurus commercial voiceover:

"If you miss this you better be dead or in jail.
And if you're in jail, break out!!"

LOVE.

The uber-dramatic voiceover just cinches the already perfect turn of phrase.  Hee!

And then there's this, from the episode when Homer's half-brother returns as a hobo (after Homer ruined him) and Homer is coveting the Spine Melter 2000 chair:

"Marge, there’s an empty spot I’ve always had inside me.
I tried to fill it with family, religion, community service,
but those were dead ends!
This [Spine Melter 2000] chair is the answer."

Bwahahahah!

God I miss old-school Simpsons.  The satire and wit and brilliance was bar none!

Just a gentle reminder that my giveaway (as per the below post from 8 days ago) (...I know, I'm the worst) is still open and closes tomorrow, Jan 31st.  If you're interested, hop to it!  If not, then...well, no hoppage necessary.  Hee!

  1. I forgot about the Simpsons (and how well written it was)!

I'm so glad we're connected now! I just read your "About Me" section and it looks like we're kindred spirits...

    1. Yes, the writing was just THE BEST...and it's amazing how many things go over your head when you're a kid (I was 9-12 when I religiously watched The Simpsons)...mostly the political satire bits, the LIFE satire, and the more subtle double-entendres. Ha!

Soooo glad we're connected now, too! Yay for kindred spirits! :-)))

  3. I think I've watched most if not all old Simpson episodes - they were definitely better. My favorite quotes were whenever Moe would get prank called.
